Beyond Academics
We firmly believe that a child who is exposed to a multitude of experiences, as opposed to being solely focused on book-learning, is the kind of child who grows up to excel socially, emotionally and professionally in a inter-dependent and complex world. These influences are gently introduced into the child’s perspective over his or her time at SWIS Batala. Our students have a healthy involvement in inter school competitions – both for the challenge to themselves, as well as to benchmark our strengths and performance.
SPORTS
Professional NIS trained coaches train the kids at Stalwart to develop their motor skills. The sports curriculum is designed to develop and enhance skills like strength, speed, endurance, agility, flexibility, control and balance. What can be learned on the ground cannot be learned in the classroom.
School offers a wide variety of sports activities which include Swimming, Horse riding, Shooting, Basket-ball, Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Table tennis, Chess, Skating, Fencing etc.
ART, DRAMA and THEATRE
Theatre in education originated in Britain in 1965 and has continued to present day. Dramatic Arts education is an important means of stimulating creativity in problem solving. It can challenge students’ perceptions about their world and about themselves. Dramatic exploration can provide students with an outlet for emotions, thoughts, and dreams that they might not otherwise have means to express. A student can, if only for a few moments, become another, explore a new role.
DANCE and MUSIC
Children develop a sense of individuality, perform well and as such are happier within themselves in the school environment. Being involved with music, and dance builds strong relationships between pupils and with their teachers, and this reinforces their identity within the school community.
EXCURSIONS
Trips and Expeditions organized at Stalwart are a golden opportunity for the students since this is one chance where the child is exposed to numerous challenges, experiences, and learnings. Not only do they get to explore an entire world in front of them, but moving out of their comfort zone also allows them to learn flexibility and adjustment.
PLAY-WAY LEARNING
Surprisingly, the pre-primary stage of education is often overlooked but actually, it needs immense exploration and attention. The base of a child is formed right from pre-school. Play-way method of learning is the right modus operandi of imparting knowledge which not only focuses on subjective development but the emotional development of the child as well. It encourages expression and creative skills among children.
